Yahoo instant messenger

Ok folks, I know this isn't exactly on topic, but i don't know who  
else to ask. I know many of you use Adium for instant messaging. So,  
does Adium work well with the Yahoo messaging service and did you all  
find the signing up process to work well? I know you can have someone  
call you to set this up, but also as a result, have you had any  
problems with providing your real e-mail and getting loads of spam and  
such? I might need this for class so it would be good to know.
