He means Usenet newsgroups which mail certainly can't handle. When most people talk about newsgroups that's usually what they mean, not RSS feedzs.

Folks, I asked about this a while back and after exploring the options available, Unison was by far the best solution. However, until they add support for handling html formatted messages, I really can't use it. I have not found any other reader that was able to connect to the news server I'm using for my course work. Why, can't say, but just wasn't happening. So, I believe I read or heard that there is a version of Pine that does not need to run in the Terminal and my understanding is it can handle news groups. Has anyone had any experience with it? Also, has anyone any other suggestions for accessible news group readers? I have been using Outlook Ezpress, but the most significant problem I've run into and can't resolve is when arrowing through the list of news groups, Window-Eyes seems to be incapable of speaking the entire folder name and grouped messages. It starts speaking then suddenly stops. I don;t know if this is do to the updating that is going on or what. In any case I looked at freeagent, but I would rather spend my money on a Mac-based solution and not on a Windows- based solution. SO, I'm open to any ideas folks may have until Unison gets html support. I'm not looking for a web-based solution, that is the alternative offered by the university. I'm looking for something I can grab the news group messages and read them locally.

tnx
