Ah, I forgot one last detail. After the battery is charged, and
you've left the power connected for the two additional hours, remove
the power plug while the computer is on.

• charge the battery fully again, with the computer either running
or off or asleep on power
• leave the power connected for an additional two hours after the
battery is fully charged
• the battery should now be conditioned

your manual has specific instrucions on conditioning your battery.
the process is this and it is advised that this be done once a
month. Charge the battery fullly the first time you charge it.
let it run down fully and this includes after it won't run the
computer any more. it may take about a week.
Charge it up fully again.

I'd been advised by a couple of Apple Techs that the first time one
charges
the battery full; let it discharge fully by running it on battery.
Then, one
will get more hours/time as the battery won't scream for 'juice'
when it has
more than enough power. Have not yet done this yet, as needed to
use MacBook
Pro to install some software and to register said software. Was
told this
also holds true for PC Notebooks.
