Hi Scott,

You asked: does the iTunes volume need to be fairly low otherwise the music will distort? When I first connected it to my stereo and turn on the music it was distorting so I did a command down arrow in iTunes and now it sounds fine.

TK: Go into the iTunes Preferences, select the Devices pane and check the box that reads something like "Disable iTunes volume for Remote Speakers". Your computer will then send a regular level signal to the Airport Express and what you do with the volume on your computer will not affect the volume on the stereo. The SoundCheck is under the Playback pane.

Scott: Also When I choose multiple speakers in the pop up menu at the bottom of the screen, after selecting multiple speakers there's nothing to choose from.
I want to hear the music via my mac and airport express.
can this be done?

TK: It can be done but the Multiple Speakers dialog is not accessible. I find it better in most situations to just let the music play out the stereo anyway, then I don't have to mess with volume settings on the computer to hear VO vs the music.

Scott: Can the volume for airport express be set separately so I don't have to keep readjusting the iTunes volume all the time?

TK: If you have a remote for your stereo, you can simply adjust the music volume from it.

Later...
