I just downloaded and tested sirc, (the one I used to use under linux)
It works just fine (though I'll need to fix a great deal of warnings
before posting it on the softcon site)
I asked on the osx channel on undernet, and other irc clients
mentioned were:
chatx aqua, irssi, ircle, snak, None of which I've tested yet, so
can't say if/how well they work with voiceover, but at least it's a
start.
You can download sirc from http://www.iagora.com/~espel/sirc/sirc.html
And, if you have the developer tools installed, you can compile it
yourself using the install script, or if you don't have them
installed, you can simply run the perl version which will still work,
only without the full-screen interface.
Until I get a compiled version up on softcon, that should work for you.
