Opa, just signed up. Thanks. So what is Infovox iVox? Is it an
engine that I need to install that will let the voices work with the
screenreader?

Infovox iVox are voices that work just like Apple's built-in voices. You install them and can them use them with VoiceOver or select them in the Speech part of the System Preferences. Infovox iVox is available for many languages. Free fully functional demos that work for 30 days can be found here: http://www.assistiveware.com/voicedownload.php

Most of the new voices are expected to be available some time in February (which means you will be able to use hem with VoiceOver too). Sign up here http://www.assistiveware.com/inform.php to be informed of the release of the new voices for the Mac.

The new voices in Infovox iVox 1.3 will be:
Dimitris (Greek)
Rachel (British English)
Olav (Norwegian)
Vittorio (Italian)
Alyona (Russian)

iPek (Turkish will follow later; delayed because of some VoiceOver issues that may need to be addressed by Apple first)

Arabic is currently expected in Infovox iVox 1.4

Cheers,

david.
