hi tiffany, how are you doing? I hope all i well with you.
Anyhow, as far as the issue you are having with Trash, whe you empty the Trash, a dialogue comes up in the finder window. I use the "Secure Empty Trash" feature myself, as I like that one better then just the "Empty Trash" feature.
When you see the dialogue, you will see the list when you VO around the dialogue box. Interacting with the list area will get you some information about what is currently going on. furthermore, if you interact with that further, you will see operation progress group, image, and the buttons you were mentioning.
The best thing to do though is to leave the dialogue box alone, and let it do it's thing. It will empty the trash as soon as you hit the "empty trash" feature, whether it be in the finder menu, or in the doc menu itself As it is emptying, you can go about your business
I hope this helps. Best, Fonzie. On Jan 29, 2009, at 1:32 PM, Tiffany D wrote:
I don't know why, but sometimes, when I delete something, I get this empty trash dialogue. When I try to read it it just says list. I try to interact with the list and get operation progress. I go further and it just says image. When I hit tab it says continue and stop but no matter what I try, nothing works. It just gets stuck. I've tried VO and space, enter and even command VO f5 and then VO shift space but nothing. The only way for me to get out of it is to force quit finder. Usually, when I empty the trash, I can delete things again but this time, it's not working. I did a force quit finder and tried to empty trash but the button is dimmed. I'm gonna restart and then try again. Does anyone know what's going on here? Thanks, Tiffanitsa
