I'll admit that I am a bit of a geek, but every new piece of software I
install, the first thing I do is find the "Options" or "Preferences"
dialogues, because that's where I get a good picture of the capabilities
and functionality that the software is trying to provide - it's a
'discovery' tool.

That said, for all the non-geeks OOo is looking to attract, I believe
that the Mozilla/Firefox model is not bad - all the common preferences
for all to see, 'advanced' options available to those who care to look
for them.
