Saving passwords is a security risk if anyone other than you has assess to the machine. Even if you trust the people who have access to it. For example, let's say I saved my PayPal login info on Firefox, and my roommate wants to check his PayPal account. He's used my machine before, so when it automagically types in the info for him - he assumes it's his and oops, he stole $50 from me without even meaning to.

It that case you should have separate user accounts, and just remember to log off when you leave the computer.

I never understood why multiple users will use the same user account. Doesn't it drive you crazy that everyone likes their system set up differently? Just the thought of having my bookmarks mixed up together with someone's else can send shivers down my spine...

Even win98 had (a primitive) ability to set up multiple user accounts.
