Regarding Schneier's suggestion of writing things down, I aggree with that but only with the caveat that the object they are written on be kept as safely as your credit cards.
Also, IMHO, if your bank does not use a one-time pad for passwords as *part* of the authentication process, then you should switch banks ASAP. Usually when switching bank, you can negotiate better deals and a few perks depending on your skills.
