Hi Charles,

Yes, figured that one out (didn't need to touch the slashes, just backspaced the last reference and replaced with 'OOo2').

I'd still like to find a way to change this in the Installer itself though, so that new installations already have this change.

Anyone?

Thanks again for pointing me to this half-fix though - really appreciate it!

AFAIK MSI supports something called 'transformations' for customizing installers. But I have never did anything with that myself, so I don't know exactly what you can do with them or how to do it. You can also investigate if there are tools that allow replacing files within .cab files - which is how files are packaged for installation.

Otherwise editing bootstrap.ini really is the only possibility to do it without rebuilding (or at least repacking) the installer. Maybe you can create a wrapper for the installer (e.g. a script), which does this edit for you automatically.

To make this a fullblown part of the installer you need to rebuild the installer. At the current time this means you need to rebuild the entire beast.

Ciao, Joerg
