Sounds good to me:

Then it looks like I am in good shape for now.

As I explained to another responder off list, I have downloaded Thunderbird
and installed it, I just haven't transferred over yet.

Because I am a web developer and a blogger, I receive about 500 emails on
avg per day from various sources and am a little afraid of missing something
in the transfer over to *any* other email program than the one I am using
presently.

I do agree however, that Thunderbird is "awesome".

I can import everything from Outlook2000 to Thunderbird seamlessly except in
my case two *very* important items:
1) Filters
2) Email Templates

Guess these where two things they didn't think about putting on the import
list or I would already be using Thunderbird exclusively.

Just a matter of time though.

I will have to manually do all the tedious - time consuming work in the
background and then once finished I will be transferring over to it.

Thanks for the insight. I just wanted to make sure I had not missed anything
with Open Office as far as an email client was concerned and therefore have
to transfer over a second time (Yuchh)

Thanks,
Robert

Robert Derman replies: We tend to recommend Mozilla Thunderbird however.
