Incidentally, this is how I did this:
* Select the "quantity" cells, that is, the cells I *do* want people
to change.
* Format > Cells > Cell Protection.
* Uncheck "Protected" and click OK.
* Tools > ProtectDocument > Sheet.
* Enter a password.

Thanks for the Invoice.sxc I saved it as an exel spreadsheet and opened
it with koffice - the protection as you said then disappeared.
Can you possibly suggest a good reference work for macros?
