Version 1.1.4

Actions taken:

Open a new file. Selected "Insert"
Selected "File"

Try Graphic/Image/Picture here (not sure about the english menu item atm).

Did you try looking at the online help? I found a description how to insert pictures easily from the index.

Selected a JPEG file and clicked on it.
Error message: The file could not be loaded.
Doesn't work with any JPEG file.

Not nice. The menu item is a misnomer. Probably Insert-Document would be better. The error message could also be improved, or it could offer to insert as graphic instead.

I'll raise an issue as you suggest.

Please check the online help and the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list first, if you think an obvious feature does not work. The QA department is not our support organization.

You could still raise an RFE for the usability issue you ran into, though. In an RFE you need to describe how it should work though. I presume that there are reasons why insert-document and insert-image are separate menu items.

It would be useful if one could insert JPEG files (e.g. corporate
logo). OpenOffice complained when I tried to do this. Works in
Powerpoint with the same JPEG file.

Could you give us more details, like version and what exactly you did. Perhaps provide a link to the jpg file in questions so others can try. I have had no trouble inserting graphics in Impress. It might be helpful if you file and issue.
