From what I can see in this software, this is exactly the sort of market I had envisaged. As a student, my notes are often quite convoluted in structure and, depending on the topic and my attention span, often quite long and requiring a lot of organization. Personally, I find GoBinder a bit too much like a word processor, but combined with the other ideas we've been knocking around (i.e., sticky notes, tree-based navigation, internal navigation, tabs, etc.) it could work fantastically.
The prototype software I had in mind for this particular project was Keynote, which is open-source but requires Microsoft's Rich Text controls, so can't be ported to other platforms. I've downloaded GoBinder and found it more aimed for students, but with some features that would well suit a program about note taking (and improve the functionality between Thunderbird/Evolution/Outlook et al. and the notes). I would recommend people who have been following this thread could use both these programs for some extended period of time and see if it suits them too.
One thing I picked up from GoBinder is I love the idea of tablet input, but that might be more dependent on whether the operating system can handle it. When I have the time to write a structured letter that takes into count everything that's been mentioned here, I'll get on to it and post it to a council member for discussion.
