BTW I have Gentoo on my server, I remember once getting complains from the OOo
2.0 build being sometimes late on emerge and the native OOo is rpm-based so
that didn't really give any more options.

Do you have any updates on that?

About NLD, I think is a 'working' desktop so is a Ximian desktop with redcarpet
and solid support for specific software like that Novell's networking tools
(can't remember right now).
