for once I think following the Microsoft model is a bad idea The Lotus Approach database - though not so well updated as MS - is better and more user friendly in its interface - and also uses multiple database formats Why is more difficult to answer - I simply find it more intuitive (though it needs learning) It has also been possible to obtain it much more cheaply too which has helped.
