I would expect so, MS seems to not can't stand for any press coverage of competition.
Along that same theme, on another list, PDF users noticed that MSIE 6 was presenting an error message when served PDFs. I would suspect that is related to the plans MS has to try to replace PDF with a closed, MS-only format, not necessarily on purpose, but a very low priority to fix (like the ODBC problem in MSO for Macintoshes which blocks FileMaker).
In 2002/2003, I noticed that MSIE added enough new lines (line feeds?) to the begining of certain types of text files so that when the file was previewed for import, it gave the user the impression that the file was blank.
OASIS' OpenDocument has the potential to make MS' cash cow irrelevant quickly. So I would expect similar small problems to be there now or arrive soon. So I would recommend that MSIE be tested and monitored to verify that it can handle .odf without messing it up.
