There are some filters done on ruby that will allow you to do this but I think is still on a per file basis. You might want to check it out for updates: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7236 -- Alexandro Colorado Co-Leader of OpenOffice.org Spanish http://es.openoffice.org/
Quoting Claude Needham <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
It would be very handy to have a search feature that could work across many files. For example searching a folder of documents for any document containing a phrase.
The motivation for the request comes from being a very prolific fiction writer. Sometimes I would need to extract something from the chapter dealing with the description of a landscape. Well, I don't necessarily remember the chapter or even the book it was in. Looking for the phrase "raging storm" might narrow it down.
Since the files are stored in a compress format, I can not use standard text search third-party programs to accomplish. I was hoping in the new version of OpenOffice this would be include.
