Simple case: my wife's ex-company has decided yesterday to check every computer for unpaid licences and remove all the illegal stuff (which includes of course a huge amount of copied MS Office). And to replace them with free products, which includes OOo because OOo can deliver MS format document if necessary.
Most companies are looking for a cheap viable alternative. Most RTF based editors are not up to the task, OOo is the only mature app that meets the requirements. You'll see what the situation is in 12 months from now.
