Here is a message that was going to send to the group. When I tried to send it, it was impossible. This is good because I saw that somehow the permissions of my /tmp folder were changed. Obviously running OO as a normal user could not work because OO then didn't have permission to write to the /tmp folder which it clearly needs to do to function. I don't wish to point an accusing finger at openoffice but I didn't really do anything else that could have changed /tmp permissions. Any ideas?
BTW I fixed the /tmp permissions and OO works fine now.

My openoffice installation is now toast. I was running 1.9.100 with
absolutely now problems. I read on the list that 104 had appeared so...
I tried to install it as usual following the instructions (as I always
do)
here:http://installation.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=609
I'm running Debian Sarge 2.6.8. and all previous versions of OO
installed in this way have functioned first-time perfectly. Now all goes
normally and the install takes me through the reading the license,
entering personal information etc. and then an ordinary looking OO
window opens up but if I do anything: enter one keystroke in the doc or
try any menu item it crashes, opens up a recovery window, asks me to
send a report, says the file (sic) is recovered and then the cycle
repeats itself. I shut the thing down by clicking on close on KDE's task
bar icon of OO at the bottom of the screen.
I run the program from the commandline (as suggested in the installation
instructions and here's the output if this is helpful:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/opt/openoffice.org1.9.104/program$ ./soffice
terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
sh: line 1: : command not found
terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'

ARRGGGHH.
Any help most welcome.
