It's a huge effort for VBA macros, but possibly it could be judged by
market pressure. I don't see this pressure for OOo macros. It could be
an option for an application that doesn't have its own API already, but
it's a lot of work! Of course I would be glad to see that happen. :-)

I think if someone really wanted to define something like this it should
be started as a standardization process or at least a common effort of
developers from several office programs.

I'm not sure about the importance of such a common function set and I
never thought about it, so no comments or wishes from my side (at least
ATM).
