To enter and manipulate the Access mdb, you have to add it as datasource:
Tools | Datasources | Add
Give a name
Choose type ADO (works not that direct on *nix)
Look in the Help for the apropriate string to add in Source URL
Done? Than choose View | Datasources or F4
Find your way there in /with the added Datasource.
For example: put a field in your document by dragging the column-head to
the place in your doc. Etc etc.
