1. I cannot find anywhere a place to change the number of files in the most recent document files list. It should be alterable, easy to locate and it should permit a pretty wide range. Listing twenty or even thirty deep is not to much in my opinion.

2. A backup file is fine, but in overwriting the original backup each time it autosaves, if you find you have really screwed up a file, it would also be nice if the original file were kept until the current edit to that file is closed. That way, if one really screwed up a file and didn't notice it right away, one could go back to the beginning, whereas, if the file is autosaved, it is possible that the backup file would end up as messed up as the working file. Yes, I have done this to myself in the past. I am not an idiot, but sometimes, the ideas come faster than I can effectively record them, and sometimes, where documents are concerned, brainstormes cause severe damage.
If you check make backup copy in the options then the behavior you want will be used. If you just used auto save, then the behavior you don't like will be used.
