Hi there. Not sure if you're aware, but even though you shut down Open
Office, org programs from your desktop, doesn't necessarily mean Open
Office.org isn't running. If the Open Office icon is still in your
system tray in the bottom right hand corner, then it means open office
is still running. If you want. You can call up taskmanager, by holding
down "ctrl alt del" and terminating open office that way as well. If you
find it in your tasks list, just shut it down and try the writer perfect
installer again

If you would like to use the version of OpenOffice.org you already
have, (to avoid another long download), and you'd like to continue to
use a stable version - (the beta is very buggy) - you can download
WordPerfect filters from the following website:
http://libwpd.sourceforge.net/download.html
What you are looking for is called "WriterPerfect".

Hello Fred,
The next version of OpenOffice.org can open WP files (but not write
them). It should be out in a month or two. You can download the beta
version right now from our website and try it out.
Cheers,
Daniel.

I've just installed Open Office on my PC. I like it so far.
The issue I'm running into is that I have Word Perfect on my PC and
I've
generated an enormous number of files in Word Perfect format.
So far, I've been unable to figure out how to open a Word Perfect
file
with Open Office.
Can it be done?
