I don't know if version 1.1.4 has a thesaurus, but the latest 1.9.118
does. Just type a word, double click it to select it and press
ctrl-F7 to see synonyms.

Thats an interesting capability but it doesn't work for me, using
1.9.122.

I just tried it with 1.9.122. Works for me. Are you selecting the word
you want to check so that it is high-lighted before pressing ctrl-F7?
BTW, I'm running on WinXP Home. Don't know if that makes any difference.
You can get to the same function via the tools menu -> Language ->
Thesaurus.

I have just reinstalled OO 1.9.122 on an XP Home machine. Still no
luck. Under Tools => Options => Language Settings => Languages, English
(USA) is shown. I would like to be able to use English_ca but that's
another story.
Aha! I see that my Locale setting for Western was English (Can) by
changing that to English (USA) the Thesaurus works well. Now, I have
another problem to resolve.
