Assuming you're using Windows, I have a suggestion that may help. It's a small (free) utility called QuickFolders. This program attaches an icon to all open and save dialogue boxes, giving you quick access to your recently accessed folders. While it won't fix the missing OpenOffice.org functionality, it will make your job quite a bit easier! You can get it at http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/software/7160/ Hope this helps.
