My understanding is that OO.o developers explicitly ignore the issue,
because something like this:
should really be done by the maintainers/ packagers of each
distro and
it would be too big of an effort for any single group to
develop all possible variants of native installers.
I cannot deny the validity of this position. Probably the problem with
OO.o is also that, from what I've heard, it's so complex and slow to
compile that even when you have the raw tarball making the binary is
beyond the means of most casual hackers.
