Hello Alexandro, Khirano & Kazunari!

Khriano and Kazunari is the same person, but maybe he can count as 2 votes for discovering.

I do not think most of the OOo community is aware of this serious change in the pending final v2.0 Impress. :-(

Yes there are some strives in OOoAuthors for providing the documentation for the Impress modules.

I have been using OOo Writer extensively but not Impress. I use v1.1.4 for Impress because v2.0 Beta Impress still appearred to have some "blips" and v1.1.4 Impress seemed to me to be more stable. Therefore, I was not aware this change/decision had taken place. =-O

I was commenting this with other OOo members, as we need pages that will list the core developers like 'team wirter' and 'team calc' which by they way you can see their pictures here:

Sounds like when the sys tray icon was removed [Quick Stater] in v2.0 Beta. Once the community was aware of it. They responded en mass. :-)

Actually OOo on Windows has it, on Linux well it was always supplied as an external app. I wonder if this can be leverage by building a gnome applet and/or a Kicker from KDE.

Why not reopen the issue and then post here the link to the issue number so that others could vote on it. I certainly will. I think it is very important that the layer feature be reinstituted.

Yes this will provide to our advantage but also writing directly to graphics.openoffice.org mailing list will make them more aware.

Hi,

Do you know why "Layers are available in OpenOffice.org Draw, not in
OpenOffice.org Impress" as described in the online help for 2.0 Beta2?
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=52472
Any info, ideas or comments?

I ask the graphic team several time ago about that, they thought that
layers were not used in Impress, so in their try to separate Impress and
Draw, they removed it.
See this thread :

Kind regards

I notice that, and is a shame since layers are an important feature
for having repetitive objects like backgrounds that are easily
editable (as opposed to use style for pages).
