Hi,

I'm just simple linux home-user using Slackware with some basic knowledge about things. Today I've decided to help testing OpenOffice Beta 2 on my system and on me, because I think lot of people like me (just some basic skills) use OpenOffice and also they are a part of 'target group'. But to my surprise after unpacking OOo_2.0beta2_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz there were only *.rpm files to install, which are not suitable for my system. After small search using google, I've found that previous version of installer was problematic from developer point of view and that native package manager for each distro should be used. I think there will be Slackware *.tgz installation files after releasing final version, but today, it seems to me problematic to start testing beta2 release and I'm asking if it would be possible to make also old-fashion installer for this (or next testing) release, which could, according to me, greatly increase the test base of OpenOffice suite.
