Hi Folks:
I have to tell you, OOo does such a superior job for the kind of work I
do that MS Office just took a dive. The only MS product that you do not
provide for is MS Publisher, which is really good for some brochure work
I need to do. If there is a solution I would like to know about it.
Bug 1
I was using OOo writer 2 to create a document. I had made some changes
and saved them first. I chose print preview mode. I sent a PDF export
while in the preview. The system happily created a blank page PDF
document and overwrote the previous version of the file (it did ask me
if I was serious first).
So the moral is, either PDF export should be disabled from print
preview, or the export should get good data to send regardless of the
screen view.
Bug 2
On another problem, I opened a MS word document that has a graphic in
the header. (It is a letterhead) OOo did fine until I modified the
page layout to reduce the top margin above the text. It dumped my
graphic and inserted an icon of a plug connected to a wire. I was
surprised so went through the process again to see if I had done some
wrong button pushing. I got the same result so there is a problem here.
