Show me some evidence - and it should be more than just "download numbers"
since I have personally downloaded OOo about 75 times.

* Yankee Group estimates that OOo has 19% market share in SMBs:

So, saying that OOo has a 12% market share doesn't seem like an eccessively high estimate.
