Bzzt Appart the fact that a paper version is a definite information loss and costs much more in storage, modern office paper just degrades too fast to be any help for archiving. Every single national library on earth is quickly realising they'll have to bite the bullet and save data in computer form. Which is technically possible (if expensive) today, but that requires documented/stable file formats. The alternative is to use pre-industrial-revolution paper or even clay tablets (which age real well), but we're producing too much information nowadays for it to be realistic. -- Nicolas Mailhot
