One of the common mistakes that draws people into that kind of pointless debate is equating "Linux" with all Open Source Software and equating MS with all closed source or proprietary software.

There used to be very many excellent closed source tools on the market. Now there are not but a few left. Many of these are still excellent, but among these excellent ones none are from the major antagonist in the IT sector.

The few that are left don't have the lobbying and marketing budgets to be heard above the noise out of Redmond. Download a year's worth of headllines and do a frequency count of company names. You'll see a trend. Then spot check some articles about each company to check for substance, you'll see a trend the inverse of the first.

Software patents kill innovation and harm all Net-based business.
Keep them out of the EU by writing your MEP, keep the market open.

silly, wrong and aggravating; and if it is silly and wrong of me to be
aggravated by it, I'm sorry.
