Out of consideration for all the poor slobs living in technologically underdeveloped countries I won't quote Marco's post but merely respond to it.

What *I* get annoyed at is the attitude that just because some people in the world pay for Internet by the byte, that it's somehow wrong in principle to *ever* use technology like html e-mail. What if I want to send a nicely formatted message -- complete with pictures of the kids -- to my sister in Washington? We both have fast, all-you-can-eat access, decent computers, and up-to-date technology.

I agree... is like trashing monitors-TV because some part of the population is visually impared and sound media like radio because some part of the population is blah...

Once said that, I do believe is better to use text for security reasons in the Windows world specially if you used clients such as Outlook. Since Outlook uses the same engine of IE you are using the IE vulnerabilities when 'surfing' your email. So I agree here that all outlook users should disable HTML rendering.

Why can't someone post a message to this list asking how to do something like that without getting a bunch of messages telling them that it's morally wrong? That and the penguinistas with their noses in the air about how e-mail is a textual medium by definition and html-mail is therefore an abomination.

Then again there wa sthe answer already posted, I mean thats what a mailing list is about, getting different answers because different people is on. So you get the people saying is morally wrong and you get the people that don't think is MORALLY wrong, and also you get the technical answer if its going to work or not. I guess is up to you to choose which answer suits your needs/interest.

When I post to a list like this I know I'm speaking to an international audience using a wide variety of clients on a wide variety of operating systems. Therefore I will post in plain-text as that is the lowest common denominator medium. But why should I be limited to that for ALL my communications?

Why can't people just answer the OP's question and leave the friggin' politics aside???

I watched this discussion and I saw many people already posted straight answers. If you miss them please go to the archives I think it was the third email after Sophie.
