I'd look for MS to use the noise and smoke from MOOX as a delay during which it would have time to work on arranging legislation to redefine 'open' to something more suitable to its way of operating or to undercut OpenDocument.

I also expect MS to continue to use more proxies for the unpleasantries to keep the backlash at least 1 degree of separation from the main movement and Bill himself.
