Say - Chuck - have you ever criticized you pal Chad for his off-topic
pro-Microsoft rants?

I don't think Chuck's been on the list long enough to start criticizing other people -- and neither have you!

That's where this got off-topic in the first place!

Not half as bad as your posts.

The issue of having a moderator (not me)

Of course not you, Roger. Not only would that be a bad idea for everyone but you can't be bothered to actually contribute. All you're interested in is running your mouth.

to keep it all on-topic was
generated by the likes of Chad and... you too?

Chuck's actually made positive comments about OOo. You've barely mentioned it. To the contrary, all you've done is blast Microsoft. That's not the same thing.

I want to discuss OpenOffice - and resent the interference in doing so by
the Microsoft zealots!

You started posting on this list 12/4 AFAICT, and you didn't even mention OOo until your 12th post on 12/10, and that was only in passing. I seriously doubt that you have any desire to actually discuss OpenOffice.org. Do you even use the program? BTW you don't even have the name of the software or the project right -- it's OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice is, I believe, the name of a commercial entity somewhere in Europe. This is something you would know if you actually participated meaningfully on these lists.

You really should sit on your hands for a while before slinging accusations around. Chad is probably the most pro-MS participant here, but I wouldn't even characterize him as pro-MS so much as not actively anti-MS. He is definitely pro-OpenOffice.org. He has contributed time and money -- distributing CD's, setting up a website, etc.

And we are *not* the same person. Not by a long shot. On other occasions we have gotten into fairly heated debates.

Yeah, I use Windows. I went cold turkey with Fedora Core 3 last spring, but I just prefer Windows for a day-to-day desktop environment. If you have a problem with that then that's your problem, not mine.

I've been using OpenOffice.org for almost two years now -- since version 1.1.2. I answer questions on the user's list, submit bug reports, and promote OOo to my friends and acquaintances. To the extent of my humble abilities I try to contribute to the project. Have you answered any user questions? Have you tried to ease the transition away from MSO for anyone? I have yet to see your name pop up on the user's list, so unless you go by a different moniker, I would dare say that I have contributed a hell of a lot more to this project than you.

Frankly, you've go a hell of a lot of nerve.
