One of the periods that wasn't that clear for me in the story of OOo is when StarOffice 5.2 divided into 2 different branches OOo and SO. What puzzle me is the stage in which OOo was releasted. I forgot how advanced StarOffice was until looking into my CD archieves I found a copy of the SO program. Practically vanished from the net, SO left no trace, no screenshots and no memory of what it used to have.
Installing and running StarOffice I can say that it was ahead of it's time. Implementing all the things many people has so desperately asked for, Browser, FTP Client, Email Client, Calendar, News Client, Chart application, Bitmap editor, Database conectivity with DBase, Oracle, StarBase and Adabas. Even the eye candy was richer in StarOffice having colorful wizards with images describing what the tool was meant to achieve. So since the Internet seems to have no memory really, I wanted to revive all this things that StarOffice used to have. http://www.openoffice-mexico.org/jza/staroffice.swf -- Alexandro Colorado Co-Lider de OpenOffice.org Espanol http://es.openoffice.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
