To All: The simplest cure is to use either Mozilla or Firefox and avoid

But not that useful for promoting ODF in a world where the reality is
that most computer users use IE. Its not so much about curing the
problem for us but taking away any obstacles to the proliferation of
ODF.
It is very difficult to remove obstacles placed by Microsoft with IE,
unless one evangelizes the use of alternatives.
Do both. Fix the problem on the web sites where possible - its possible,
Daniel has done it on the ODF and INGOT sites. And get people to use
Firefox because its a better browser anyway.
I just fixed three websites using the .htaccess file method given
on the ODFellowship's page that Daniel mentioned in an earlier
note: http://opendocumentfellowship.org/Resources/ForWebmasters
This took about 2 minutes by FTP. Of course it can only be done
by someone with the permissions to FTP a file to the right place
on a server.
My next move is to write to my webhosting company and suggest
that they add the rules to their global Apache config file so
that all their customers' websites would work properly with
OpenDocument... part of the campaign for removing obstacles.
Cheers, Jean
