Great article which I really enjoyed reading. The analogy was good, but the forces reigned against open source software are much more entrenced than even those inspired by racism. Why? Money I am afraid.

I tend to think that racist views -- and those which permit people to feature themselves proudly standing around in community lynching photos -- are more deeply embedded than pecuniary interest.

I think of embedded financial interests as comparatively ephemeral.
