On the other hand, I've discovered Chandler. http://chandler.osafoundation.org/ Chandler is part of the OSA Foundation (Open Source Application Foundation) started by Mitch Kapor, who previously founded Lotus Development corporation and co-founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Their main focus at the moment is the Calendar part of the application, but looking through the Chandler specs, by the time they reach 1.0 it will be an Outlook competitor, and looks like it will be better than Outlook in most every way. My current plan on the Winblows platform is to limp along using Outlook as my PIM and OOo for my office suite until Chandler reaches the 1.0 release. I will continue to explore other alternatives in the meanwhile however.
