Resistant to macro-based viruses.
This is not 100% exact, and is also a con, for many MSO users. The
correct form is:
OO.o is resistant to viruses made with MSO Office Macros.
Because OO.o cannot execute such macros (not on Linux,
AFAIK. Can it on Windows?)
MsOffice VBA Macro's cannot be executed on OOo-Windos as well.
Furthermore, I've been told that there are virusses that are in the
header of Ms-files, that can execute even before the users has the
choise wheter or not to execute the macro's.
So it's right that the statement is not 100% precise.
Better say "Resistant to (VBA-)macro-based viruses."
For a brief statement I think that is OK. (all details would be far to
lengthy and vulnarable for rapid changing as well ;-)
No risk with meta-data in document headers.
Specify that is because in OO.o you can see them all. Not because OO.o
doesn't put any meta-data in the document.
MsOffice documents are known for all sort of private-risky metadata; who
saw it, changed it etc. So it is different...
HTH,
It does. Thanks,
Cor
