As you probably know there is an enhanced version of OpenOffice.org
called OpenOffice.org Premium.
You can download from here:
ftp://ftp.fsf.hu/OpenOffice.org_hu/devel/OOB680_m5_Premium/
http://ftp.fsf.hu/OpenOffice.org_hu/devel/OOB680_m5_Premium/
(for Linux and Windows in English and Hungarian)
It contains many different templates. With version 2.0.3 I started
organizing these templates in the default openoffice.org categories:
officorr -> "Business Correspondence"
offimisc -> "Other Business Documents"
personal -> "Personal Correspondence and Documents"
forms -> "Forms and Contracts"
finance -> "Finances"
educate -> "Education"
layout -> "Presentation Backgrounds"
presnt -> "Presentations"
misc -> "Miscellaneous"
layout for Impress backgrounds, presnt for Impress prewritten
presentations.
Can someone organize English templates to me? I am uploading the zip
file (with templates and empty folders) here:
w3.enternet.hu/szalaik/download/TEMPLATES1-en-US.zip
I also would like to build German version of OpenOffice.org, so I need
help to arrange German language version of templates. I used the
original OpenOffice.org extras CD and OOoPR-box compilation. The
collected German templates are going here:
w3.enternet.hu/szalaik/download/TEMPLATES1-de.zip
So can you contribute this for next OpenOffice.org Premium?
Thanks,
KAMI
Hello!
Thank you for the quick answeer!
The way OOo has approach this is to merge it into language packs,
because templates are built on language specific layouts. We cant just
bundle them from each language we distribute. What we can do is to
actually build something simliar to OOoDic that will download
templates in this case from repositories on the net. That way the user
can select which language it correspond and download the apropiate one.
I have got a good news for you! OpenOffice.org Premium utilize same
technology as OpenOffice.org, so we can include templates based on
their language. I have created a different pool for Premium extras, but
it works like the original. So OOo Premium has two language specific
template stack, one is the original, the second is for the premium
extras. This one is selectable from the installer.
So the technology is available. As you know the Premium edition has more
enhancement like Gallery, Fonts and others. They might need some extra
work (mainly translation and recompilation with extra contetns) but the
Hungarian users liked the idea of all-in-one sollution.
Fortunately OOo has the technology, I have been learning the
SimpleXMLRPCServer.py at the ooo/programs/python-core-2.2.x/lib/ folder
This library has the hability to connect and exchange information
through XML (Webservices) and python has the power to modify OOo in
more ways that is being used righ tnow.
Your way to solve this game is also interesting, but currently I prefer
the all in one type package...
