I thought I saw SQLite in Thunderbird.  If so, it is merely a matter of
adding 25 lines of code for the SQLite engine, and however many lines
are needed for a UI for another database interface ---- if the current
one can't be used.

For my part, I am getting ready to install NetBSD, and use SendMail as
my email client. [At least that program knows how to deal with 10 000
messages per day,]
