First you need to your templates them into OOo templates, e.g. by using
the document converter wizard. Then you need to copy the converted
templates into the OOo templates folder(s). Finally force OOo to update
its internal template information by calling the "Update" command in
"File-Templates-Organize".

If you say that this looks a little bit overcomplicated you are right. I
hope this will become easier in the future.
