Dear Mr. Singleton,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
We must admit that the sample page of the manual you got from us has to
be translated in Italian. The mother company usually send us manuals in
Word Format (URGH!) and then we opened the Word File with Open Office
for further processing.
Just for your information, translation takes place by using Omega T
which is also an Open Source Project.
The strange anchor use you point us out is probably a result of the
conversion from Word to Open Office.
If you would like it, we will send you one sample page (or the whole)
of the original manual in Word Format for your further investigations.
Many thanks.
Truly yours.

Dear Sirs,
We are getting in touch with you because we are Open Office users and
we really like it..
We would suggest you to insert a new function that we believe helpful
and handy, above all for long texts: what we suggest is to enlarge the
"Find & Replace" capability to work not only with text (words or
characters format), but also with objects (images and so on). We send
you here attached a "sample file" in .odt format with objects and
images we need to "find and replace".
The file is sent to us by our mother company and as you can see the
drawings regarding the keys do not look very neat. we then would need
to replace them with edited, better looking ones, the point is that
the document is about 250 pages. The job is almost impossible to be
done manually.
What do you think about it?
Waiting for your kind comment on the matter.
Best regards.
Interesting that you would choose Anchor to paragraph over anchor to
character. I also noticed that you have not used styles for headings but
have chosen direct formatting. You should know this is not the best way
to use OOo, Styles and good anchoring will make your document much
better. To get an idea of this, please have a look at
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/ In particular the sources
for the 1.1.x guide.
Also I should mention that attachments to messages to the list are
frowned upon as these go to everyone on the list most of whom do not
have high speed connections. The best way to handle problems such as
yours in to enter an issue into Issue
Tracker and to post the issue number/link to the list with a description
of the problem so those interested can deal with it.
If you haven't already registered, do the following:
1. To file an issue you must register with OOo by clicking the
My Pages tab and selecting the Register link
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Join
2. Fill in your information
3. Reply to the confirmation email that will be sent to the address
you provided.
4. Once you have confirmed, go to www.openoffice.org again
5. And click on the "My Pages" tab from which you can file and find
issues.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It is important that you file
any examples with the issue to ensure your need is understood.
