Sure, that's works nicely, in fact it looks better as now there is a
little space between the bars. How would I go about generating another
chart from this chart that contains the total number of miles travelled
weekly? Is this easy to do? Thanks for the help.

I would insert a new column after each week column and use the new
columns to hold the means of transportation. For example:
Week1 Week2
Mon 4 Car 6 Bicycle
Tue 2 Train 4 Car
Wed 5 Plane 3 Car
Thursday 2 Bus 2 On foot
Friday Car 5 Rickshaw

Subject: [discuss] non-numeric data in calc chart....
Hi everyone. I have a bar chart to plots distances travelled each day
over a set week, for example
Week1 Week2 Week3 Week4...
Mon 4 6
Tue 2 4
Wed 5 3
Thursday 2 2
Friday 5 6
What I would like to do is to somehow insert in each cell the
means of
transport, car, plane, bicycle etc. If there any way I can do
this, it
seems that whenever I put in any non-numeric value Cacl
treats the cell
as empty? Thanks in advance.
Rory.
