You mean like Office XP should have a warning that its vulnerable to
macro viruses and can't directly export pdf files ;-)

Another warning should be that OOo can save you serious amounts of money
and nasty visits from FAST or BSA.

Maybe this should be a warning too. I can see with all these warnings
its going to slow down the user much more than the few seconds it takes
to start up OOo20 on Windows XP. If speed was such an issue most people
would have migrated from Windows XP anyway. Its dog slow on my 2 Ghz
laptop compared to Linux on my 1 GHz desktop. Speed and code efficiency
are desirable goals but they are not as crucial to users as many people
think. Reliable data exchange is much more important.

We are well aware of the speed issues and things are being done to
improve that all the time. OOo20 is much improved over OOo10 and it will
improve further.

They are part of the main strategy and have been articulated in many
forums. I'd agree that the strategy should be better presented on the
OOo web site but even so, the OOo develpment strategy is a lot more
transparent that that for MSO.
