yeah, mikrotik are notorious for their employees ridiculing opensource
approach ;)
though i am not using such a tool myself, a quick "open source network
discovery" returned some results.

seems that it can generate at least something :)

and i agree that tool like this should not be incorporated in office
software package, though importing it's output might be a better idea ;)
