Hello Martin.

Yes. And I still stand by it. If you are earnest, this is the number 1
criticism of OpenOffice.org.

And you surely proved your friendly intentions by beating on it in your
ads. I'm just wondering...are you denying that your ads are exactly
contra productive to OOo in that they stress the number one negative
clichee about OOo? You didn't give a shit about how negative your ads
were for OOo and you obviously still don't. But you want us to give a
shit about your precious (as it turned out functionally very lacking)
office file viewer? Again, why? What interest do you have in our opinions?

Is OpenOffice.org beyond criticism just because it's open source? Or because you like it? Or because it angers Microsoft?

Just ignoring a problem and claiming it's a "clichee" (sic) doesn't make the problem go away. You'd better help the OOo developers solve the problem instead of denying it.

Now want us to help you improve your product? Why?
To make your Office reader as bloated as OOo? Don't think that you want
that.

No, certainly I don't. We are supporting OpenDocument. This does not
mean that I think OOo is the best office suite.

Well, this list is about OpenOffice.org.
Yes. And OpenDocument is also on-topic here.

PS: Registering www.officeviewers.com to promote your own single product
is just another dodgy move.

Why? The domain name was free and we'll use it to offer more office file
viewers (other platforms -- Linux is already under dev -- and other
document types). If somebody had thought of the name, he or she could
have registered it before us.

Well, wanna play stupid? Ok, let's play then. What is the benefit for
you to present that viewer on a separate domain, rather than a subpage
of your already existing softmaker domain? And what is the benefit of
choosing "officeviewers" instead of "officeviewers.softmaker.com"? I
guess you paid extra money for that independent domain name, so ... why?

The same benefit that there is spreadopenoffice.org in addition to openoffice.org: An easy-to-memorize domain name instead of having to walk around a larger web site, in the hope of finding a certain download among many products.

I'm not saying you don't have the right to do so, but could it be that
you are using purposeful misguidance to attract people to your products?
No.

Good luck.
Thank you.

André.
Best,

-mk
